Scottsburg is a Midwestern town with a lot of heart. It is beautiful, friendly and full of activity and life. A small town? Yes. An insignificant town? Hardly. It is the county seat of Scott County and is a family-friendly and fun place to live, work and play. Seasonal weather means that you can watch the beautiful buds bloom in the spring and watch the snow fall in the winter. The changing landscape and lovely people are what make this part of the world so wonderful.
This lovely Indiana town is full of attractions and things to do. For example, the Westwood Golf Course is a 9-hole, par 35 public golf course is a par 35 course with water features and more. There is also a recently remodeled Pro Shop and a large outdoor deck for spectators. The golf course is well-maintained and very beautiful. A round of golf at Westwood would be a great way to pass a beautiful, balmy spring or summer day.
Looking for some more outdoor fun? There are so many wonderful opportunities to get outside and enjoy nature in and around the town. Indiana’s longest footpath, The Knobstone Trail, runs just east of Scottsburg and is a 58 mile stretch of hiking trail that takes you through the backcountry of Indiana. To the east, you will find Clifty Falls State Park which features trails, waterfalls, campsites and, a large swimming pool. Also, be sure to check out the Clifty Inn, which overlooks the Ohio River. The inn has delicious food, lovely rooms and offers a respite from the great outdoors for wear travelers to kick their feet up. Hardy Lake is also nearby and offers boating, swimming, fishing, hiking, camping and a Raptor (Bird-of-Prey) rehabilitation facility. The raptor facility would be a great place to check out when the weather is cooler.
